District Launches Second Phase of Distance Learning Program

EMCSD teachers, administrators, and staff have been working diligently to coordinate a seamless rollout of our district’s Distance Learning.

Distance Learning is defined as a broad instructional approach where teachers and students are not in the same place at the same time.

During the closure, Phase 1 of the Distance Learning Plan included grade level packets to review essential skills and provide enrichment activities. Links for different websites were shared in the packets and on the district website. Teachers were also asked to check in with students twice per week during this time.

Phase 2 of the plan will require students and teachers to connect twice per week using Google Meet. Lessons will be pushed out via Google Classroom. In order to ensure students will be able to engage fully in our Phase 2 Distance Learning plan, the district used this time to identify and provide devices and internet access to families.
