Principal's Message

Welcome to Rio Vista School, where we LEARN, LEAD, SERVE.
I am honored and privileged to serve as the principal at Rio Vista School and welcome you warmly to our community, You ROCK!

We are dedicated to developing LEADERS, who love to learn and serve their schools, family, and community. To accomplish this vision, our mission is to -

Provide a welcoming environment for parents and community members to become involved in the education of all Rio Vista students.
To develop LEADERS - no excuses, no exceptions.
To work collaboratively to achieve goals
To continuously assess our effectiveness in achieving goals on the basis of results – tangible evidence that our students are acquiring the knowledge, skills, and behaviors we know are essential to their future success

We are proud to be a Leader in Me School. Rio Vista School is committed to developing leaders throughout the school by using The 7 Habits of Happy Kids, making it a part of their daily lives. We recognize the potential all students have to be leaders within their homes, school and community.
Our staff consists of dedicated, hardworking individuals who genuinely care for the well-being of the entire student body, academically, physically and emotionally. We work collaboratively in their professional learning communities to refine their instructional practices, use data to drive their instruction, and utilize research-based strategies that make the subject matter both accessible and challenging to students.
The Rio Vista staff is committed to working closely with parents to help each student realize his or her academic potential. Parents can help their child be successful by reading with and modeling reading, monitoring the completion of homework, having daily conversations about school, communicating with their child’s teacher and making sure their child is in school every day. Your involvement and commitment throughout the year shows your child that every aspect of their education is important and special.

You are invited to join the Rio Vista School PTA! The PTA directly works on creating school programs to enhance the school experience for your students through activities such as carnivals, movie nights, family learning nights, and many more!

We welcome your thoughts and ideas to make Rio Vista School the most special place for learning. We look forward to working with you and your children as they explore their unlimited possibilities!
